A premiere before the lockdown

The performances of the theater erlangen will take place until 2. November held as planned. A new production premieres at the erlangen theater before the nationwide closing of theaters.

On saturday, 31. October, at 8 p.M. In the theater in der garage, director matthias kaschig presents a theatrical adaptation of franz kafka’s novel "der bau onto the stage. Kafka’s 1923/24 experiment laconically dissects a tension between the need for security and paranoia that is as old as the first hollow, but has had to be readjusted by the pandemic in all of us. Alissa snagowski and hermann grobe-berg embody kafka’s schizophrenic erzahler, an animal that has built a structure but immediately questions every step it takes: is the structure really as safe as thought??

With regard to the closure of theaters decided by the federal and state governments, the theater management explains: "in the past few months, we have worked hard to develop hygiene concepts for safe attendance at our theaters and have successfully implemented them. The renewed closure of the theater to the public is therefore a hard blow, even if we support the decision in solidarity in view of the worrying incidence of infection. The work behind the scenes continues – we are rehearsing, looking for new dates for the cancelled performances and will provide digital offers. We are very grateful that our public has so far been so understanding of our situation and has patiently accompanied us during the pandemic.".
